DESCRIPTIONThis photo was taken in 1927 looking northeast from the courthouse property in downtown Salem, Oregon. The cars in the foreground are parked on Church Street and the park-like area in the distance is the post office grounds. The Y.M.C.A. was begun in 1892 and the building at this site was dedicated March 16, 1926. The address is 685 Court on the north side between Church & Cottage. The church steeple barely visible in the distance would have been First Presbyterian.
