DESCRIPTIONSalem High School was constructed on Marion Street between High and Church Street. The school was a 3-story building with dormers providing additional rooms on the 4th floor. In 1906 the new building was dedicated as Salem High School and graduated 20 students that June. This picture is of the wrecking of it in 1953 to make way for Meier & Frank Department Store. This picture is from the Hugh Stryker Collection.
