DESCRIPTIONThis photo is of Salem's first parsonage and the second oldest building in Salem. It was built in the fall of 1841 by Gustavus Hines and housed Reverend David Leslie and others of the Methodist missionaries and circuit riders. It was originally built on the north side of the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill but was moved to 1325 Ferry Street. When the Mission Mill Complex was developed in the 1960's and '70's it was moved there. This photo shows it boarded up and about to be moved. The photo is from the Hugh Stryker Collection.
