DESCRIPTIONEquipment is being put into place to begin the razing of Salem High School to make way for the Meier & Frank department store constructed in Salem in the block bounded by High, Center, Church and Marion Streets. The old high school was a brick 3-story building and served all high school students in the city before additional schools were built in other neighborhoods of Salem. Razing of the high school took place in 1953.
