This is a photo of a house in Salem, Oregon, taken by Bob Koval in 1978 as part of a CETA grant project to make a photographic record of historic Salem homes. This house, constructed in c.1911, is located at 776 Shipping Street NE. The architectural characteristics of this two story house with basement include a hipped roof, a brick chimney at the rear of the house, rectangular composition, multiple pane dormer windows, a gable end dormer, a hipped roof dormer, exposed purlins, wide overhanging eaves, double hung windows with small panes in the upper sash and narrow band horizontal wood siding. There is a front lawn with bushes, shrubs and trees in the front and on the sides of the house. The architectural style is the Bungalow and Craftsman style.
