This house was built on the site of the Joseph Holman House on Court Street across from the State Capitol. The house was at 745 Court Street, which would have been between Cottage & Winter streets. Mr.Buren was a partner with Clarence Hamilton in a furniture store in downtown Salem. He and his wife had the following children: Rosalie, Maxine who was food editor for the newspaper for many years, Wolcott & Wyndham. The house has many angles and rooflines, and appears to be frame with a stucco finish on the second floor. There are tiny many-paned windows up under the dormers on the third floor. It appears to have two chimneys and the house is heavily covered with ivy in this photo.
