Pictured is detail work of a window at Waller Hall at Willamette University in Salem, Marion County. Waller Hall was the first building on campus and was built in 1864-67 from bricks fashioned at the site from the clay soil. Willamette University was established in 1842 by Methodist missionary Jason Lee and is the first university built west of the Mississippi River. This photo is from the Salem City Hall Collection.
