DESCRIPTION
This home, located at 796 Winter Street in Salem, Oregon, was the residence of Governor Victor Atiyeh during his term of office, 1979-1987. There was no state-owned residence for governors at this time. Whatever house he rented became the "Governor's mansion." After Ateyih's term, this became headquarters for the Department of Environmental Quality for the State of Oregon. Photo was taken on August 29, 1987.
