This plaque is located at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Marion Co. It was dedicated to Madame Marie Dorion (1786-1850), who was symbolic of faith, loyality and leadership. She was an Indian guide for the Wilson Price Hunt party and the mother of the first white child born in the Oregon Territory in 1811. The plaque was presented by the Dorian Club of Portland in 1950. This picture was taken on July 15, 1961.
