Lonerock in Gilliam County, Oregon in May of 1963. Lonerock gets its name from a rock about 100 feet high and some 60 feet in diameter, a prominent landmark not far from the central part of the community. The town, originally called Lone Rock, was founded in 1881 by R. G. Robinson and Albert Henshaw.
