DESCRIPTION
This photograph is of Celilo Falls on the Columbia River in north-central Oregon. Indians stand on the rocks or on wooden platforms over the river and catch salmon with nets on the end of long poles. The photograph shows several people standing and sitting on the platforms and on the rocks working with the nets and poles. A tent is set up on the left. In the background are the falls and the low hills of Washington.
